B+ Atlanta Hawks
Al Horford (3); Acie Law (11)
GM Billy Knight didn't make the blockbuster trade many Atlanta fans hoped for, but he got value at both first-round spots while filling two of the Hawks' biggest needs. Horford will help their frontcourt, while Law is a legitimate prospect at point guard.
B- Boston Celtics
Jeff Green (5), traded to the Sonics with Celtics G Delonte West, F Wally Szczerbiak and a future second-round pick for G Ray Allen and No. 35 pick in '07 draft (Glen Davis); Gabe Pruitt (32)
Danny Ainge had to do something to satisfy Paul Pierce, and picking up a perennial All-Star (and former UConn star) such as Ray Allen isn't bad for a No. 5 pick. But if Pierce and Allen don't mesh together on the floor, Ainge won't hear the end of it.
B+ Charlotte Bobcats
Brandan Wright (8), traded to the Warriors for G Jason Richardson and rights to No. 36 pick in '07 draft (Jermareo Davidson); Jared Dudley (22)
Co-owner Michael Jordan lived up to his vow to try to win now by dealing for one of the league's most explosive scorers in Richardson. Wright has tremendous upside, but Richardson is a proven commodity who could join with small Gerald Wallace (assuming he re-signs) in a scary perimeter.
B Chicago Bulls
Joakim Noah (9); Aaron Gray (49); JamesOn Curry (51)
They got the best big man available at No. 9 in Noah. He won't fill their need for a low-post scorer, but he's a winner and hustler who should fit in with Scott Skiles' system. In the second round they got prospects at needed areas in Gray and Curry.

B Dallas Mavericks
Nick Fazekas (34); Renaldas Seibutis (50); traded rights to Miovan Rakovic (60) and cash to Magic for rights to Reyshawn Terry (44)
Quiet night for Mark Cuban & Co., but they got a value pick in Fazekas. Though not the low-post scorer they need, he should help shore up their frontcourt depth. Seibutis could remain in Europe for seasoning, while Terry is a big-time athlete.

Rodney Stuckey (15); Arron Afflalo (27); Sammy Mejia (57)
Joe Dumars shored up his backcourt depth with the selections of Stuckey and Afflalo, both of whom should fit well in Detroit's system. But could they have been acquired later on the board? Also, they didn't address needs for a true backup point guard or center.
B Golden State Warriors
Traded G Jason Richardson and rights to Jermareo Davidson (No. 36 pick in '07 draft) for Brandan Wright (No. 8 in '07 draft); Marco Belinelli (18)
They picked up a stud long-range prospect in Wright, and a guy who might be able to help them a bit right away in Italian shooting guard Belinelli. But Stephen Jackson and Monta Ellis will have to step up to replace Richardson.
C Houston Rockets
Aaron Brooks (26); traded future second-round pick and cash to Sonics for Carl Landry (31); Brad Newley (54)
Give new GM Daryl Morey credit for taking a chance. The jet-quick Brooks led the Pac-10 in scoring, but his size (6-1) makes him a defensive question mark. They seemed to need a power forward more, especially since they had already acquired Mike James in a trade.
C Indiana Pacers
Traded 2009 second-round pick to Heat for Stanko Barac (39)
They began the night without any picks, but picked up Barac, a 7-foot-1 Croatian who is still raw, for a pick two years from now. Larry Bird must have really wanted to get in the draft.
B Los Angeles Clippers
Al Thornton (14); Jared Jordan (45)
They lucked out when Thornton slipped down to them, filling a need for an NBA-ready forward who can step in and perhaps contribute right away. Unless, of course, those rumors that Thornton needs wrist surgery prove to be accurate.
B Los Angeles Lakers
Javaris Crittenton (19); Sun Yue (40), Marc Gasol (48)
They can now offer him a big point guard (Crittenton), a Gasol and even the Sun, but it isn't likely to get Kobe Bryant to rescind his trade demand. Now if it were Jason Kidd, Pau Gasol and any Phoenix Sun, it might be a different story.
A- Memphis Grizzlies
Mike Conley (4)
They filled a need at point guard with the best one on the board in Conley, who should team with Kyle Lowry to give them two solid young playmakers. But it won't make up for the pain of losing the top pick in the draft lottery.
B Miami Heat
Traded right to Jason Smith (20) to 76ers for rights to Daequan Cook, (21) a 2009 second-round pick and cash;
They milked an extra draft pick out of the Sixers by drafting Smith, then trading him to Philly for the guy they wanted in Cook. The Ohio State product fills a need for another bench shooter, but rookies seldom play much for Pat Riley.
C Milwaukee Bucks
Yi Jianlian (6); Ramon Sessions (56)
GM Larry Harris took a huge gamble by using his top pick on Yi, who apparently doesn't want to play in Milwaukee. If Harris can't parlay it into a trade (hello, Golden State), he might someday regret passing on Corey Brewer or Brandan Wright.
B Minnesota Timberwolves
Corey Brewer (7); Chris Richard (41)
Does the fact that Kevin McHale passed on Wright and Noah indicate Kevin Garnett is sticking around? Either way, Brewer is a solid pick at No. 7, and fills a need for a versatile small forward who can also defend.
B New Jersey Nets
Sean Williams (17)
Williams is a major talent who ranked among nation's top shot-blockers before being dismissed from the BC team in January for violating team rules. The Nets need help down low, and they scored a year ago with a similar gamble on a player who had had off-court problems in point guard Marcus Williams.
B New Orleans Hornets
Julian Wright (13); Adam Haluska (43)
Wright is a tremendous athlete with a diverse skill set, and he gives them some insurance in case Desmond Mason departs via free agency. But the Kansas sophomore is still raw and figures to need time to develop.
A- New York Knicks
Wilson Chandler (23); traded 2008 second-round pick to Trail Blazers for Demetris Nichols (53)
Isiah Thomas got a good all-around prospect who can defend multiple positions in Chandler, but the real coup was acquiring Zach Randolph from the Blazers for Channing Frye and Steve Francis and his fat contract. Throw in the Randolph Morris pickup back in March, and it's a success on paper for New York.
C Orlando Magic
Traded draft rights to Reyshawn Terry (44) to the Mavericks for rights to Miovan Rakovic and cash; traded No. 54 pick in 2007 draft to Rockets for cash
Uneventful draft for the Magic: They didn't have a first-rounder (thanks to last year's Darko Milicic trade), they traded their No. 54 to Houston before the draft and they lost their other pick (No. 39) to the Heat as compensation for hiring Stan Van Gundy.
C Philadelphia 76ers
Thaddeus Young (12), traded Daequan Cook (21) and 2009 second-round pick for Jason Smith (21); traded rights to Petteri Koponen (30) to Trail Blazers for rights to Derrick Byars (42) and cash; traded draft rights to Kyrylo Fesenko (38) to Jazz for draft rights to Herbert Hill (55)
GM Billy King couldn't find the right trade to move up, but he wound up with decent prospects in Young, Smith and Byars. Still, none of the trio appears ready to help right away. This draft probably is not going to make anybody forget Allen Iverson.
B- Phoenix Suns
Sold draft rights to Rudy Fernandez (24) to Trail Blazers; Alando Tucker (29); D. J. Strawberry (59)
So much for their effort to make a splash in this draft. They sold one of their picks to the Blazers for cash. They used the other on Tucker, whom they hope can follow in Michael Finley's sneakers as a Badgers draft surprise. Unless, of course, he's headed to the T'wolves in a future Garnett deal.
A- Portland Trail Blazers
Greg Oden (1); purchased draft rights to Rudy Fernandez (24) from Suns; traded rights to Derrick Byars (42) and cash to 76ers for Petteri Koponen (30); Josh McRoberts (37), Taurean Green (52)
For the second straight year, they were bold and aggressive. Oden was the safe and logical pick at No. 1, Fernandez could prove a Ginobili-type steal down the road, and McRoberts was a great value at No. 37. They also got Channing Frye while ridding themselves of Zach Randolph in that trade with the Knicks.
B Sacramento Kings
Spencer Hawes (10)
Hard to argue with the selection of Hawes, since Brad Miller looked like a shell of himself last year and the Kings as a team ranked 30th in rebounds and 28th in blocked shots. Still, the track record for centers taken this low on the board is not good.
B San Antonio Spurs
Tiago Splitter (28); Marcus Williams (33), Giorgos Printezis (58)
Defending champs can afford to be patient and take chances, and that's what they did. Splitter is a talent who could contribute once he gets out of his European pro contract. Williams fills a need for an athletic backup small forward.
B Seattle SuperSonics
Kevin Durant (2); traded G Ray Allen and No. 35 pick in '07 draft (Glen Davis) to Celtics for right to No. 5 pick in '07 draft (Jeff Green)
If you're going to tear it down and rebuild, this is the way to do it. Durant and Green are top prospects who went where they were supposed to go. But the loss of Allen (and maybe Rashard Lewis) means it's likely to be ugly next year.

Morris Almond (25); traded draft rights to Herbert Hill (55) to 76ers for draft rights to Kyrylo Fesenko (38)
They needed a shooter, and Almond might be the best one in the draft. But he's going to have to improve his defense if he wants to play for Jerry Sloan.
B Washington Wizards
Nick Young (16); Dominic McGuire (47)
They needed a center, but with none available GM Ernie Grunfeld had to go with the best player available. Young is a terrific athlete who can get to the rim and score. He also could be insurance in case DeShawn Stevenson departs via free agency.
